During the six years I lived in NC I had the privilege of working with Ronny Russell as he started Live Again Ministries.
Live Again grew out of his desire to “alleviate spiritual and material poverty around the block and around the world.” When he reached the age when most people talk about retirement Ronny started using the word “refirement”. As he began to plan for the time he would step down as pastor of Mission Baptist Church he began to share of his vision for Live Again as a Mission Outreach Center. The vision is an exciting one, it is easy to get excited about helping people move from material and spiritual poverty to experiencing “life to the full”.
I came alongside Ronny and offered my organizational and planning skills to help move Live Again forward. It has been fun to watch many people “catch the vision” and work to grow the breadth of Live Again’s ministry. Ronny is a good friend and we share a common sense of mission and purpose.
Live Again has spent the last few years (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) installing water purification projects on the Island of Roatan, Honduras. We have built partnerships with people from the island, hired local people to serve as resource people and learned how to efficiently and effectively help people have access to clean water. There is much more to the ministry of Live Again but Roatan has been my focus and I have had the privilege of sharing the island with both my children.
Here are some pictures that show some of the friends we have made and the work of Live Again on the island of Roatan.
