Today was Family Fun Day at First Baptist Church. There were pony rides, all kinds of animals to pet and feed, a bounce house, live music and plenty of food to go around. Thanks to everyone who came early to help set up and to those who stayed late to make sure everything was cleaned up. It was a great day of fun and getting to know some of the people in our community. Here are some of the pictures from the day.


oon I stopped by a local office supply store that has chosen to close their doors and is nearing the end of their closeout sale. I had driven past when the 25% off signs were out, figuring, “it was not really worth my time.” When the 50% off signs were in the windows I did not want to deal with all the people. At 75% I figured, “everything good was probably already taken and picked over.” Well, I could not pass over the 90% off signs that were in the windows. I assumed I would quickly walk in, decide I did not want to buy any fixtures, and walk out. Boy was I surprised. I picked up enough paper to make church bulletins for the next six months. I found the larger 11 x 17 and 8.5 x 14 paper in full supply and was able to get plenty of that. There was even some reams of colored card stock left. After four trips in and out of the store (much to Rayann and Nancy’s embarrassment) I ended up with over $1,000 of paper supplies for $100! I also came away with $240 worth of supplies for
