Nancy, Rayann and I had planned on slowly moving the mountain of mulch from the driveway to the hill. It was going to be a big project. We did not have many more projects planned for the summer. Thirty yards of mulch work out to be about 270 wheelbarrow loads.
There was a day when pushing loads of mulch around the yard was no big deal. These days one or two loads and I would need a nap. Every time I looked at that mountain of mulch it seemed to be getting bigger.
As I turned into our driveway coming home from church the front yard was full of activity.
There were five or six pickup trucks parked on the side of the driveway. The church softball team was moving mulch like there was no tomorrow.
Our softball team is full of guys who do landscaping work for a living. Here they were, on what for many of them is their one day off a week, making that mountain disappear.
It is truly one of the few times I have been at a loss for words.
Thank you does not even begin to express how much their efforts mean to us.
Later in the day Nancy, Rayann and I went to the church softball game. Our guys played great and won! Amazing how some people can move 30 yards of mulch and STILL have energy to play softball. I will confess it leaves me a little envious.
Thanks again team!
