In the midst of the most difficult times, caregivers need a place to go and be still, to take a short break and recharge while supporting a loved one through illness.
In her latest Caregiver Journal, Nancy shares that special place she goes to recharge when life becomes overwhelming.
As a caregiver, there have been times when I would go missing. Sitting quietly in the sunroom at the end of our house I would not respond as family members called my name. During those brief moments, I would take a breath and recharge myself for the challenges of supporting a loved one through illness. My family allowed me to go missing (for a few moments) and I appreciated a brief chance to reset. Where is your quiet place of escape?
